2019 Hall of Fame Ceremony
The US Lacrosse Michigan Board of Directors are proud to announce the 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees: Robert Woodruff, Bill Aliber, Maggie Houston, Katherine Riddle Miller and Bob Bowery. These men and women represent outstanding players, coaches and referees who are the foundation of our game. We will honor them at a banquet in their honor on November 9, 2019, at Uptown Grille in Commerce Township, Michigan. The event will begin at 6:00PM and conclude at 9:00PM. Tickets are $20 and include a walking dinner and non-alcoholic beverages.
The evening’s event will include a gathering of notable personalities from throughout the Michigan lacrosse community. Hall of Famers, coaches, current and former board members, players, parents and friends are all welcome to join us for this special event.

The 2019 Inductees:
Bill Aliber: Bill played his high school lacrosse at Detroit Country Day School. He was a 2X All-American and nationally recruited. Upon graduating, he attended Brown University where he was named: 3X first-team All-Ivy, 2X Brown Captain, 2X MVP, Ivy League Player of the Year, 2X NCAA All-American, Brown football player and current member of the Brown Hall of Fame.
Bob Bowery: Bob is one of the most experienced referees in the state of Michigan. Bob has refereed the state championships for the last 15 years. He has also been selected to referee at games on the collegiate level including: D-1, D-3 and MCLA.
Maggie Houston: Maggie Houston was a pioneer for women’s lacrosse in Michigan. After playing on Team USA, she relocated to Michigan and introduced the game to Cranbrook where she was their first head coach in 1955. She remained the head coach until 1975 having helped establish lacrosse in the region and nurtured its growth in many other schools.
Katherine Riddle Miller: Katherine was a standout player at University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe. In addition to being named All-State, she was also captain of the team and a four-year starter. After graduation, she played at Washington & Lee where she was recognized as a First Team regional player and selected as a player in the All-North/South game.
Bob Woodruff: Bob is currently a renowned journalist and the former anchor for ABC World News. Prior to his journalism career, he was an outstanding student-athlete at both Cranbrook Kingswood High School and Colgate University. At Cranbrook, he was captain in his senior year, as well as earning All-State and All-Midwest honors. At Colgate, he was a team captain twice, Colgate’s MVP in two seasons, and held the school’s scoring title for more than 30 years. After graduating, Bob went to the University of Michigan Law School and continued playing for their club team. Bob is also a member of Colgate’s Hall of Fame.
